Emmanuel Wilson is a professional artist working in upstate South Carolina, USA.
Wilson’s original fine art paintings and personalized portraits have been
commissioned and collected by a diverse variety of clientele including business
leaders, celebrities, and many others.

Raised in Seneca, South Carolina, Emmanuel knew at a young age he wanted to be
visual artist. Wilson credits the opportunity given him by a local beauty salon owner
as pivotal in his decision to pursue an art career. At only 13 years of age, the chance
to design and paint a mural on a salon wall, solidified his confidence and resolved to
cultivate his craft as an artist. Studying the works of renowned artist such as
Salvador Dali, Charles White, and M.C. Escher own his own; as well as middle school
art teacher Robert Spencer and others helped him further set out to develop his own
unique style and painting.

In speaking about his training as an artist, Wilson says: “I am basically self-taught
and it is all God-given outside of my hard work”. He learned some basics in his high
school gifted and talented art class under instructor Frederick Edgerton for four
years. He also got a full summer scholarship to the South Carolina Governor’s School
For The Arts at Furman University. Emmanuel had the opportunity to be instructed by
former Furman University associate arts professor, Michael Brodeur, world renown
batik painter Leo Twiggs; among others during his summer experience at Furman
University. He took one class in design at Lander University in 1995. Through books
and by way of trial and error, Emmanuel has continued to grow in his craft. After
exploring numerous media, he embraced acrylics – he likes that they are rapid,
forgiving, and immediately expressive and allow mixed media techniques. Emmanuel
has found art to be medicinal to his soul and he realize that he is simply a conduit
through which his talent flows.

Currently, Emmanuel is in collaboration with international gallery, Monat Gallery
located in Madrid, Spain. Monat Gallery will kick off the year long collaboration with
a three day exhibit of my curated works at the Paris Art Fair January 2024.
