“Mambo italiano” From Italy to the world.

Maestro Jane Far, born Giovanna Pia Ferrara, President of the Cultural Association Brancaccio e Musica, Ambassador of women in the world for the States General of women and Artistic Director of Mondello Arte EXpo for Music, Legality and International Relations, on Thursday 26 September 2024 at 5:00 pm at the “Ex Chiesa di San Mattia ai Crociferi” in Via Torremuzza 18b, has  presented her new International project entitled: “Mambo Italiano”, an extraordinary musical and choreographic work with video clips. The godmother of the event will be Maestro Flora Faja, Professor of Jazz Singing at the Alessandro Scarlatti State Conservatory in Palermo. The event has been  presented by Maestro Filippo Lo Iacono, General Director of the Costanza Foundation, and the Journalist Dr. Maria Concetta Cefalù. A special thanks to the Mayor of the city of Palermo, Prof. Roberto Lagalla, for having sponsored the project, to the Councilor Dr. Maurizio Carta, and to the Councilor Dr. Giampiero Cannella. The international project “Mambo Italiano” conceived by the composer and violinist Giovanna Ferrara, aka Jane Far, known in the national and international musical artistic scene, was born to enhance and disseminate the Italian and Sicilian cultural heritage in the world with her music, promote Made in Italy and ensure greater knowledge and usability of the artistic and cultural assets of our beloved Sicily and Italy.

The video clip was shot on May 26, 2024 in Palermo from the historic Mondello pier, it has numerous national and international sponsors. “The new project aims to be a tool to bring Italy, Sicilianness to the world and spread culture, art, music, fine arts, architecture, cuisine, material and immaterial goods, made in Italy and Sicily. “I chose Mondello” says Maestro Ferrara “because it represents Italy and constitutes one of the most evocative sea views of the Italian coast”, “Music, culture and art – continues Maestro Ferrara – constitute the strength and tools that can create a valid bridge of connection between Sicily, America, the United Arab Emirates, China, Australia, Africa and the entire world, a tool for development, cooperation and union”. Producer of the video is the Cultural Association Brancaccio e Musica. The male protagonist in the video clip, who embodies the figure of the modern “Sicilian” is the famous actor Tommaso Gioietta, Performer, Musician, Psychologist and Psychotherapist. “Special Mention” for Career as an Actor at the International Career Awards Talent and professionals 2023. He was recently present in the third season of the TV series Màkari for RAI fiction in prime time on RAI Uno and at the cinema with the film “Nato con la camicia” and soon on RAI Cinque with the Documentary by Virgilio Sieni “Virtual Atlas of Italian Art through Gesture”. At the video took part  as actresses: Marisa Rubino President of the Association “Nati per Vincere” and the members of the Association: Dervishi Mimosa, Valeria Romano, Romina Romano, Claudia Cilluffo, Rosanna Cataldi, Stefania Iacinta, Diana Impellizzeri, Schimenti Anna Maria Agnese, Baglio Gaia. The recording, mixing & mastering of the unforgettable and historic song “Mambo italiano” published in 1954 was handled by the producer of Ficarazzi Air Musica Piero Sala, “star” of music on TikTok and gold record for “baby doll”. The video clip was made on the original music of the American composer Bob Merrill, pseudonym of Henry Robert Merrill Levan, on the Italian text written by Gian Carlo Testoni (who signs with the pseudonym Lidianni) and Gaspare Gabriele Abbate (who uses the pseudonym Gabba), performed by Maestro Giovanna Pia Ferrara, screenplay and artistic direction by Maestro Giovanna Pia Ferrara.
