AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE TO THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

His Excellency Lovemore Mazemo is the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the United Arab Emirates since September 2021, and Permanent Representative of Zimbabwe to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). He holds a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Master of Business Administration degree from St. John’s University of New York, USA. Ambassador Lovemore Mazemo is a seasoned career diplomat who rose through the ranks in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Zimbabwe from 1983 to date. He served as diplomat at the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Maputo, Mozambique (1988-1990) and in New York, United States of America at the Permanent Mission of Zimbabwe to the United Nations (1993-2000).

H.E. Lovemore Mazemo served as Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Zambia and Permanent Representative of Zimbabwe to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) from 2007 to 2014. Ambassador Mazemo served as Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Nigeria and Permanent Observer of Zimbabwe to the Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) from 2014 to 2019. Ambassador Mazemo currently sits on the Board of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. Since his appointment as the Ambassador of Zimbabwe to the United Arab Emirates in October 2021, H.E. Ambassador Mazemo has been instrumental in promoting bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates which has resulted in theblossomingof trade and investment cooperation between the two friendly countries. The UAE is now Zimbabwe’s second largest trading partner.
