Edgar Mabboux was born on September 1st, 1932 in Lausanne. Abandoned after his birth, he was placed in various homes and orphanages. The child was unhappy and lonely, so he took refuge in drawing, which allowed him to escape his sad condition. At eight years old, he achieved his first nudes. “I tried to sell them to the priest, who gave me a slap! » he tells a journalist. As a teenager, he also discovered music and later played with happiness several instruments. In the 1970s he became a member of SACEM, as a composer. Subsequently, he followed various training courses in Paris, which allowed him to master several pictorial techniques. His works have been exhibited in the biggest galleries, in England, Germany, Japan, in the United States, among others.

In 2017 he received the Metropolitan Empire Prize from the Foundation Constanza, for all of his work, consecration of a vocation developed over more than seven decades. “Talent comes before all work, declares the painter.
