Artist Marcella Bianciardi, can you tell us about yourself?

I am Marcella Bianciardi, born in Porto Santo Stefano, on 04/11/1959. I have always had a passion for drawing and tailoring, and I dedicated myself to work and family for a long time. At the age of 55, I decided to go back to studying my passion, painting, and at 60 I graduated; from that moment on I dedicated myself totally to painting: I took a year to paint what my heart asked for and made me feel good. I took cues from what made me emotional. With the work “COUPERIN”, I was selected and called for an international SNAI competition at the San Siro racecourse in Milan: I didn’t believe it and I was afraid, knowing that I would be competing with award-winning painters; but I was encouraged and it all started from there. The ART AND HORSE Trophy) was no longer a dream, it became a reality. Since then I have participated in biennials, competitions, exhibitions, fairs and received several prizes, but in my thinking I have always remained myself, without letting it go to my head. I have participated in awareness-raising and donation exhibitions, such as the Butterfly and the Pink Together, by virtue of which one of my paintings is now permanently exhibited on a wall of the mammogram department. I will continue along this path because painting is important to me, it makes me feel good physically and mentally. Colors are a sign of life, like the rainbow that shines after a storm: that’s how I am, after a painting I use my colors to illuminate my life, and that of those who love my art.

Mi presento, sono Marcella Bianciardi, nata a Porto Santo Stefano, l’ 11/04/1959. Ho nutrito sempre una passione per il disegno e la sartoria, e mi sono dedicata per parecchio tempo al lavoro ed alla famiglia. All’età di 55 anni, ho deciso di tornare a studiare la mia passione, dipingere, ed a 60 mi sono diplomata; da quel momento mi sono dedicata totalmente alla pittura: mi sono presa un anno per dipingere quello che il cuore chiedeva e mi faceva stare bene. Ho preso spunti in quello che mi faceva emozionare.

Con l’opera “COUPERIN”, sono stata selezionata e convocata per un concorso internazionale della SNAI all’ippodromo di San Siro Milano: non ci credevo ed avevo timore, sapendo che avrei concorso con pittori pluripremiati; ma sono stata  incoraggiata e da lì è partito tutto. Il Trofeo ARTE E CAVALLO) non era più un sogno, è divenuto realtà. 

Da allora ho partecipato a biennali, concorsi, mostre, fiere e ritirato parecchi premi, ma nel mio pensare sono rimasta sempre me stessa, senza montarmi la testa. Ho partecipato a mostre di sensibilizzazione e dedicate alle donazioni, come la Farfalla e l’Insieme In Rosa, in virtù delle quali un mio dipinto è oggi in permanenza esposto in una parete del Reparto mammografie.

Continuerò per questa strada, perché dipingere per me è importante, mi fa stare bene fisicamente e mentalmente.

I colori sono un segno della vita, come l’arcobaleno che splende dopo un temporale: io sono così, dopo un dipinto passo con i miei colori ad illuminare la mia vita, e quella di chi ama la mia rate.
