A Circle has One Thousand Edges.

I have been painting as long as I have been thinking. Already as a child it gave me the peace to create my own world. Once I had left my childhood painting world, I of course, started to copy Masters I loved, such as Picasso, Monet, Hundertwasser and inspired by my art teacher at Dallas Skyline High School I painted day and night. And then came the time of trying to find myself studying Chinese at a University in Taipei, Taiwan. Here I had the chance of studying Classical Chinese landscape painting with the very renowned and humble Master Wang Chiao Wei. The years in Taiwan had a great impact on my life, which are resembled in my landscape paintings based on Chinese ink paintings focusing on the decay, survival, and restart of nature. A cycle we experience year by year. I reinforce my vision with a thick undercoating of seven layers of gold ground. Gold supports powerfully the Here and Now, the eternal cycle of decay, survival and recreation. Gold to me is the one and only luminous material – the symbol of the transcendent celestial signs connected to the power and magic of eternity and decay.

Centered Thoughts

As I worked for 15 years at the Zurich University of Fine Arts as an educator, my other works focus on humankind’s constructive nature.

Here, my visual language consists of shapes and colors.

I use simple shapes of different materials that intermingle with color to leave a positive emotional impact on the spectator.

I want to echo the beauty of abstract geometric forms onto the ideas of social change and the ability to feel and see what the personal inner self opens to different individuals. My organized layers characterize different compositions and arrangements, whereas at the same time, I want to withdraw from orthodox shapes. Here, the following questions are essential to me: “Is a circle something round?” and  “Is a line a straight line?”. Nevertheless, it is the spectator’s freedom to create an emotional and intellectual manifestation on the unique awareness and interpretation of the beauty of art.
