From Tailoring to Tiles: A Journey Rooted in Identity

Everything started when I was invited to present a suit collection at Santo Domingo Fashion Week in 2017. I never imagined that just a few years later, I’d be sponsoring the Peruvian pavilion at World EXPO Dubai 2020, showcasing my work in ceramics and textiles—merging ancient traditions with contemporary techniques. Now, eight years later, I find myself living in this marvellous city, sharing stories of Peruvian history through my art. It’s amazing how a deep love for one’s culture and identity can push us beyond our comfort zones in pursuit of a greater purpose. Way back, in the late ’90s, I was just a quiet, observant outsider—someone who simply wanted to fit in and pass unnoticed. My studies in architecture and interior design opened my eyes to the world of materials, textures, and proportions. They sparked a fascination with colour, pattern, and the delicate balance between form and function.

From there, 100% customized bespoke tailoring and handmade ceramic tiles became my world. But today, my universe has expanded. My mission as a Style Architect is to help people, places, and products discover and express their unique identities. I aim to educate and share the knowledge I’ve gathered so that my clients can build a foundation for their own critical thinking.

What better way to express oneself than through clothing and interior design? Let your creativity and originality shine—stand apart from the crowd. In a world where social media often dictates trends and pushes conformity for the sake of profit, the need for authenticity and individuality has never been more essential. There’s never been a greater need for singularity, authenticity, and character. Today, social media often dictates what’s “in,” driving mass conformity for profit. But we must return to what matters: heritage, craft, and the unique fingerprints we each carry. There’s nothing wiser than going back to our roots—looking to the sky, touching the earth, and remembering that beauty starts with perspective. Ancient civilizations knew this. So should we.
